Megan is the second most popular Welsh name in Wales atm and it's at #29 in the UK chart. I know rather a lot of them, including two close friends and several relations; the oldest Megan I know is pushing 70 and the youngest is a few months old. I think it's a decent, friendly, pleasant name but I'd never use it because it's just too... stereotypical.Re pronunciation: the name is basically Meg with a Welsh diminutive ending stuck on, so it's pronounced MEG an, or MEG ən. I completely fail to understand how it could be pronounced any other way, unless in some accent people pronounce Meg as MAYG or MEEG.
