I say MEG-en, and I really like it. My daughter is Margaret "Meg" and she gets called Megan sometimes, but I don't mind because it is a nickname for Margaret and I like it enough. :)
I sort of feel like it's dated to the 70s/80s too, but I know a 3 year old Megan and can definitely picture it on a little girl. It feels more youthful in general I think.
