Re: Bridges
in reply to a message by rem
It looks like a surname name, and stands out a lot as one because it's a plural noun form. Surnamey names are not my thing, generally, so I dislike it. Also partly because it reminds me of Bridger, which has 3 bad things going for it IMO (is the last name of a woman I hated, sounds like Bridget, and is over-the-top butch sounding). But, my personal reaction suppressed, it isn't the absolute worst surname name. I'm just pretty sure I wouldn't want a name Bridges if I were a guy.I like Cyrus. I've met a Cyrus who's nine now. Sage Victoria is nice too. I'd use Ewan with them instead. Bridges seems dissimilar to the others, not that it matters.Get well soon.

I generally don't like surnames either. I just was thinking this might be an honoring option. Yes I think it's not usable, and when I suggested to my husband he said the initials would be BM so it was out of the question. I'm considering having another baby, but the naming is so difficult. I like Ewan, but I think it would be mispronounced. Girls are even harder. I don't feel like I have any real girl possibilities.

I don't see how you could go wrong if you still like Jack and Eve! Those are great, not common, not forgettable, not confusing, not loaded with stuff. Maybe you are thinking about it too hard. (But I'm not scolding you. Thinking about it too hard is fun. At least until a baby arrives. :-)
