Do you think Josephine and Jacqueline are too close for twins? Any MN ideas?

They are definitely too close for siblings.

No, they're fine. I don't care for Jacqueline at all but Josephine is nice. I would give them middle names that are very different in sound because otherwise it will be too matchy (no Josephine Joan and Jacqueline Jean or Josephine May and Jacqueline Fay etc).Josephine Rosemary

I like to avoid matching initials for twins, but Josephine and Jacqueline aren't horrible as a twinset. I've heard far worse. Mind you, I'm pronouncing Jacqueline the way I usually hear it in English--with the final syllable said more like -lyn than -leen. If they're both -leen, then they're too matchy. I think "Josie and Jackie" verges on too cutesy, so I'd opt for an alternate nickname for at least one of them.My cousin is Jacqueline Mae...sort of. Her mother mangled the spelling of Jacqueline because she thought it was "too hard." Still, I've always thought it was a pretty name. Perhaps Jacqueline Mae and Josephine Ruby?

Unless you're pronouncing Jacqueline JAK-ə-lin or JAK-lin, then no, I don't think the names are too close even though they're similar in appearance. I'm not really a fan of purposely using the same initials for twins or siblings in general, but if someone happens to love two names that start with the same letter, I don't really have a problem with that. If my favorite names started with the same letter, I would probably just go ahead and use them.Combos:Josephine Claire

It's a tad cutesy but I wouldn't roll my eyes over it. Are you pronouncing Jacqueline with the 'een' ending to match Josephine? Otherwise, I think it would be odd. Josie and Jack / Jackie would be nice.

Not too close, exactly, but certainly too cutesie and matchie-matchie. Josie and Jackie? Better, but still not good. Pity, really, because they're good names on the whole. I do prefer Josephine, which is not dated like Jacqueline, and if I had to choose, it would be my choice. But I wouldn't use them together.

I think it's perfect. Josie and Jacqui.

Not too close at all. It is not as if both derive from the same male name. In fact, even though I don't like Josephine, I think it's a great sibset.
I like Josephine Margot and Jacqueline Mireille but I assume you'd think that was a step too far!
