Re: Silvia

1)Spelling: I prefer Sylvia. Silvia reminds me of “saliva”.
2)Do you like it? I loooove Sylvia! I would absolutely use it; it’s at the top of my list actually. Top 5.
I am not all that fond of Sylvie, I tend not to like the French –ie forms of names, with a few exceptions. I actually know quite a few Sylvie’s around my age, but not one Sylvia of any age, this is probably due to living in a French speaking area. The possibility of Sylvie wouldn't put me off of using Sylvia but it just doesn't have that same oomph.
3)What do you imagine a Silvia to be like? I don’t really picture names as being associated with certain personalities, sometimes I meet someone and think “wow, that doesn’t fit” but I don’t think a Sylvia needs to be blonde or needs to be clever or anything like that.
4)What associations do you have? Sylvia Plath definitely, but I consider that a good thing, her writing is beautiful, tragic but beautiful.
5)My combos are:
Sylvia Iris
Sylvia June
Sylvia Philomena
Sylvia Violet
