BA from church
A lady that my dad and stepmom know from church just got a new granddaughter. Her name is...Ellyn Olivia _________Personally, I don't like the "kre8yve" spelling they chose for Ellen, but the sound of Ellen Olivia is pleasing. What do you think?

I love the name Olivia but only as feminine for Oliver and forms of Alfher and Áleifr (see Olaf) not as 'olive'I don't like Ellyn, the y makes it look masculine (like in the Welsh names ending with 'wen' and 'wyn'. Wen is stricktly feminine and Wyn stricktly masculine)
Ellen is just fine.

I'm not a fan of Ellyn or Ellen, but it does go well with Olivia.

I agree with you. I like Ellen Olivia, but that Y is disappointing. I wonder if they had a reason for it beyond making it "speshul," like wanting to honor a Lyn or something.

Honoring (?)I know the grandmother's name is Kelly. Not sure if that played any role in Ellyn's name, however.

I think it sounds nice too. I don't like the spelling of "Ellyn" and I don't particularly like the name Olivia, but it does have a nice flow.
