I prefer
Max as a nn for
Maxine or
Maxwell, etc depending on the gender but it works as a full name for a boy. It makes me think of Mad
Max.
Max is the most common name for a dog or at least it use to be a few years ago but I do feel it still works as a name for a human. The name isn't that common for human males in the US, it's barely in the top 100.
Personally I'm not super in love with the male
Max names but I do like
Maxwell,
Maximilian,
Maximus, etc. I just prefer the female name
Maxine with the nn
Max.
Someone once thought my partners brother
Max was a girl. She was an old woman, so maybe her eye sight wasn't very good.
Max had long hair at the time but his face wasn't feminine looking and he was looking straight at her right in front of her, that's why I suspect she couldn't see well.
