Ebba, Alina, Ilona
One of my favorite names right now is Ebba, but it seems like people here don't like it at all and I was just curious to hear your impressions and associations. Is it the sounds that people don't like?
And what about Alina and Ilona? I never see anyone mention these names and Ilona is a family name for me, but again, it seems like most people don't like it?
Any combo ideas for these three?

I have a positive association with Ilona, and it's my favorite of the three. When I first encountered it, I did think its sound was too close to "alone" for my comfort, but I got over it, and now I think it's melodic and bright.
Ilona Vivien
Ilona Faye
Ilona Madeline
Ilona Celeste
Ilona Therese
I'm not a fan of Ebba, and for me it's the ebb part that tanks it. I think of things in decline, like an ebbing of feeling or the tide pulling away from the shore, and it's a downer. Ebba ends up sounding dreary and not very attractive. Alina is okay, but I find it a little blah. It's very lightweight and feels almost unfinished.

I'm not very fond of Ebba, it's a bit harsh in my ears, and I think it's a little over-used.
Alina is OK and I have always liked Ilona.

The only one I, personally, dislike is Ebba and that is entirely because of the sound. It just doesn't work for my ear and doesn't "feel" like something to call a person, but I enjoy Elva and Emma. I have a similar, though less severe, glitch with Alba, but I really like Alva.
Alina and Ilona are both fine; I prefer the former's beginning sound over the latter's, though I do like the latter's long "o" and I love Iona. Ilona also does make me think of the words, "lone" and "alone". In general, I tend not to go for names that begin with "Il", but that doesn't mean I think there's anything wrong with the names themselves. Let's see if I can come up with anything helpful...
Ebba Clotilde
Ebba Dorothy
Ebba Irene
Ebba Josephine
Ebba Melisende
Ebba Naomi
Ebba Noelle
Ebba Olivine "-een"
Ebba Rosalind
Ebba Rosemary
Ebba Thilde "TEELD"
Alina Bethan
Alina Brooke
Alina Constance
Alina Dorrit
Alina Dove
Alina Fern
Alina Georgette

Ebba: Sounds like 'Emma' with a horrible cold. I don't care much for Emma, much less Ebba.
Alina: I like this a lot. Even better is Alena/ Alene.
Ilona: This just doesn't look nice. I assume it's pronounced the same way as Alana. If so, the name itself isn't anything special but it's not bad. I much prefer the look of Alana.

Ebba is adorable, but feels like a nickname to me. I wonder if there are some names you would like, that could be shortened to Ebba?
Ebony
Ebele (looks nice, but I have no idea how it is pronounced)
Elisabeth
Elisabetta
Elba
Alina is okay. Ilona doesn't appeal to me at all.

Ebba keeps getting recommended to me as I like Alba, but it just sounds strange to me, not a name, more of a nickname or an utterance.
I like Ilona, but knew a pain in the rear little Ilona and can still hear her gran shouting the name across the street, so I've been put off it.
I know a little Alina right now and she doesn't do the names any favours for me, so not keen.

I love the name Ebba. I think it looks pretty. I don't like Alina or Ilona though. They just don't appeal to me.
