I'm not really fond of
Martha although since it was my great-grandmother's name I wish I could like it. A Welsh friend's elderly mother is called
Martha ("
Mattie" or perhaps "
Matti").
Somewhat off-topic, I have noticed that in South Pembrokeshire ("Little England Beyond Wales"), the following names persisted over the generations among all families:
