Suggestions? + benign BA
So! I am, in a very tentative sense, dating a boy. Who knows if I still will be by the next time I check this post? I sure don't! But, despite the whole damn thing being up in the air all the time, last night he was very sweet and allowed me to play the "let's name B/G twins" game with him. Unfortunately, and as I suspected, he finds my taste in names totally pretentious and unworkable, but we did come up with a fairly decent list. Decent though it may be, it's still paltry, especially the boys, and I feel like there are more names out there that we didn't discuss where we might find some common ground. I know he probably doesn't want to play this game again for a while yet, but if the time ever comes, I'd like to be prepared. One of the major stumbling blocks is his surname. I won't write it, and I'll erase this in a minute, but it's the Spanish word for cow except with a B. Few names sound good with it.Girls
We basically agreed on: Irene, Claudia, Cecilia, Hortensia (his step-grandmother's name, she's called "Tensia"), Isidora
Maybes: Mary, Helen, Fernanda, Jane, Joy (Mary, Jane, Joy are honoring)
He didn't like: Pandora, Eudora, Solveig, Zephyra, Sigrid, Galilea, Galatea, Thomasina
I didn't like (but could maybe like): Constance, Lucia, LucyBoys
We basically agreed on: Walter, Ivan, Isidro
Maybes: Henry, Peter, August "Auggie," Hugh/Hughes (family name for both), John, Fernando, Otis, Stanley, probably not Gustavo and Johannes but I might talk him over
He didn't like: frigging anything I threw out, but Claudio, Pandolfo, Rodolfo, Inferno, Ivanhoe, Blair, Francis, Balthazar, Wolfgang, Ludwig, Leopold, Phineas, Franz, Dmitry, Valerio, Zimri, Robert, Leonard, Carlos, Hubert, Abraham, Cygnus, Felix
I didn't like: Jorge, Emmett (he might have been joking about those)Anyway, I feel like I didn't have a good repertoire of names to throw out to him because I haven't been thinking about names as much. So, please, hit me! I'm pretty meh on both Walter and Ivan. He insisted that Isidore was a girl's name, which is incorrect, but suggested Isidro himself.
Gustavo and Valerio were originally his suggestions, but he was a buttface and took them back.
Oh, I have a new cousin. Oliver Philip joins George Wilson, Estelle Josephine "Stella," and Natasha Grace. Philip is his granddad.

Claudia + (Spanish word for cow) sounds good to me. Ooh... Isidro is COOL. :DHoly shit Pandolfo, Rodolfo, Inferno. Too badass... can't handle...Your cousins names are pleasant enough. Best of luck with the boy :D (No time to come up with suggestions, but your mental database of names is probably vastly huger than mine anyway)

I can see why someone might say that about a name like Wolfgang, but what's so weird about Lila?

Yes, rather odd, since I mentioned Wolfgang and not Lila. Also the comments were incomprehensible

His grandma's name was Lila, actually. But she went by Jan, plus he's not too into Lila.
He's not into Wolfgang either.
Thanks!
