Sky, Skye or Schuyler? (m)
can you put your answer in the subject line and explain why in your message, please.
I love all three but can obviously just choose one. For a girl. If I'd pick Schuyler I'd call her both Schuyler and Sky (as a nickname).
So which one and why?
Schuyler
Sky
Skye
Please don't change spellings, I don't like any alternate spellings of Schuyler. And Schuyler is SKY-ler.

Sky.
I just think it looks the nicest and I like the reference to the 'sky' that the name has.

One for Schuyler!
I love Schuyler, I don't know why so many people don't but I love it on either gender. I think Schuyler nn Skye would be nice. Sky could work too but I find it more masculine (how ironic). I was actually just thinking about this two minutes ago and then I came upon this topic (crazyyy). I don't know, I know I'm in the minority but I say go for it =)

Sky
I am not very fond of any of the listed options, to be perfectly honest.
Schuyler is likely the worst, in my opinion... even though I understand that it comes from a legitimate surname, it looks so horrendously butchered, made-up, and kre8tiv.

Skye
Speed, bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing,
Onward! the sailors cry;
Carry the lad that's born to be King
Over the sea to Skye.
I love islands, so definitely Skye. I hope to go there one day.
Sky doesn't sound like a real name and Schuyler makes me want to pronounce it SHOOY-ler.

Skye
I really like it and I like the imagery of the Isle of Skye, which is somewhere I've never been but I've heard good things about it.
Sky is too much of a word name for me.
Schuyler makes me want to say Shoo-ler. It's not instinctive to me that it would be pronounced like Skyler. If I was to use it for a girl I'd spell it Skyla but it does look rather trendy without much substance.

Skye
Sky is a close second. Skye distinguishes it as a name rather than just a word, plus I think it looks slightly better with the E on the end.
I personally think Schuyler is very masculine. I much prefer if for a boy but it is usable for a girl. Skyler and Skylar are better for girls than Schuyler but I still prefer them for a boy. I went to school with a Schuyler from Kindergarten - 5th grade. He was a bully and he always teased me the most. Though now that I'm older I do wonder if he could have had a crush on me and just had no idea how to express it / maybe didn't want anyone to know it.
Also my surname is Schuyler without the Y. But if you look at my genealogy my ancestors constantly changed the spelling back and forth to having and not having the Y. My ancestors were German and had a very different pronunciation of this surname. It is pronounced like the word shoe with lur added on the end, so basically shoe-LUR. It does not have the pretty Sky sound to it. If you name a kid Schuyler, German people or people unfamiliar with the Dutch pronunciation may mispronounce it.
