Carson, Mack, and Mattea
I am pregnant with #3 and my husband and I spent the evening tossing around names. Now that it's for real he's actually willing to talk about it! :)
He likes Mac/Mack as a nickname, but nixed most of my Mc-names as well as Malcolm. Our two boy options from the first conversation landed on:
Carson Mackinlay
Mackinlay Drew nn Mack
(The spelling of Mackinlay has not been discussed yet).
What do you think of those two? Which do you like better? Which do you like with Niko and Emerson? Are Emerson and Carson okay in the same sibset?
For girls, it looks like it will be Mattea or Matea. Which spelling do you like better?
The only drawback with this name is how people will pronounce it. We're going for muh-TAY-uh. If you have a non-name-nerd or two around, we'd love to get some feedback on how the general public would read Mattea/Matea.
Middle name is still totally up for grabs on this one.

I actually quite like Mackinlay - spelling: Mackinly, Mackinley, McKinley? But I also like Carson too! I think Carson goes best with your boys and it doesn't matter that two end in "-son"
I don't really like Matea - my sister (definitely not name-nerd material) looked at the name with a confused expression. She has no idea how to pronounce it and if I'm honest I might stumble to get it correct too. Maybe use it as a middle name if you both like it?

No, Cormac is (sadly) not an option.
Thanks. I really love Mattea right now!

With your boys' names, I prefer Mackinlay Drew over Carson Mackinlay, though I would choose the latter in other circumstances. Niko, Emerson and Mackinlay just sounds better to me than Niko, Emerson and Carson, because of the repeated "r" sound as well as "son" component, too similar for my ear. I wouldn't balk at someone else making the choice, though.
I like Mattea; Matea always looks like it's missing something to me. I pronounce them both as you do, though.

Thanks for the feedback. Mackinlay is winning for me as well.
And I agree on Mattea too.
