The "keer" sound has never been a favorite with my ear, but I do think Ciaran a handsome name.

I love this name. It is what my partner and I will name our first or second son.

Ciaran is my favorite spelling but my partner has said for a long time that he only likes the spelling Keiran. Keiran is my second favorite spelling and I prefer it over Kieran. But I love all the spellings of Ciaran, though Keiron and Kiaran are my least favorite spellings.

I love it! I think it's really handsome and has a dark/mischievous edge. It was one of the first names I liked when I fell in love with Irish names when I was 14 or 15. I wanted to use it for years, and still would consider using it if I or DH were more Irish!

I love Ciaran! It's been first (and currently ranks second) on my favorite boys names list for several years now. It's quite a handsome sounding name, unique Irish Gaelic spelling and not terribly popular - even Kieran hasn't made it to the top 20 in the USA yet. The meaning is a bit "dark" but I usually think of it as dark hair, and the spelling is a bit tricky if you're not used to it but I love the look of Ciaran far more than Kieran.
I've tried several middle names with it such as Douglas and Laurence but I keep coming back to using my maiden name with it for a Ciaran Michael combo.

I much prefer Kieran, which I've loved for years. But Ciaran isn't that bad.
