Hayley or Halley? (more)
If you had to pick one, which one and why? I pronounce Halley as HAL-ee and Hayley as HAY-lee, obviously.
Halley or Hayley and why?
If you could use any spelling of HAY-lee and HAL-ee, which one and why?
How many Hayleys and Halleys do you know (all spellings)?
Do the names give you different impressions, colors, images or anything?

Hayley means "hay clearing" so at least this spelling makes sense to me. Between Halley and Hayley, I suppose I'd go with Hayley though I can't say I like either. I'd rather do Hallie or even Halcyon, nn Hallie. I've known plenty of girls named Hayley throughout the years (of all spellings).

Hmmm, I guess I'd pick Halley because it's more unusual. Hayley isn't bad though.
If I could chose spellings I'f choose Hailey for HAY-lee, and Haley or maybe Halle for HAL-ee.
I don't know any HAL-ees, but I know several Haileys, Haleys, Hayleys, and one Haelle (all pronounced HAY-lee).
I think HAL-ee seems more mature and HAY-lee seems younger and trendier (not like the name is trendy, but like a person named HAY-lee is likely to be a trend-follower).

I prefer Halley, but the spelling Hallie :)
I've grown to prefer the spelling Haley. One l. But I think the name is passé.
I prefer Hayley. It sounds nicer to me. I've met two people named Hayley and 2 named Haley. I've encountered little girls named Hayley / Haley / Hailey at the store and such, but I don't know the spellings because I didn't see them. I don't recall ever meeting another named Hallie, and I haven't met anyone named Halley.
Hayley makes me think of meadows, tall grass, and spring and summer weather.
Halley looks less feminine than Hallie. I prefer Hallie with this spelling. Halley is okay, but it seems more likely to be mixed up with Haley or pronounced HALL-ee, although Halley's Comet might help in terms of people pronouncing Halley correctly. It resembles the word "valley", so that might help too.

Hayley... every day and I only know two.
Halley
most definitely. I really cannot stand Hayley. Ugh, it just sounds so cheesy and spineless to me.... it reminds me a of a yipping ankle-biter. I'd stick with the Hayley or Haley spellings
Halle or Hallie are the best spellings for "Halley," imo. I know a girl I went to school with has a daughter named Hallie. Halle is just some much more refined and timeless sounding than trite and trendy Hayley/Hailey/Haiyleigh/blaarg

Hayley, for sure. Halley looks....wrong. Like a nickname, or a version of Halle. I don't know anyone with these names, but I've heard of girls here in Sweden named Haylie, and perhaps one Hayley. I like Hayley, Haley, Hailey and maybe even Haylie, but I think my favorite spelling will always be Hailey.
