No. Using Evan for a girl only reinforces the idea that women need to play by men's rules to get ahead in life. Evadne is no less strong than Evan, despite what many a tryndee namer thinks.Beyond the question of the unconscious reasoning behind m-t-f names (because I admit there are a few I really like, such as Clarence and Chester), it's trendy-wendy and will date your daughter--rather like all the girls named Jodie who were born in the 70s and 80s.Instead of Evan, what about these?Evanna
