I love it. Growing up in the South I knew a ton of Carolines, including my own sister. So, yes, I think it's fairly common, but not obnoxiously so.

I like it. It's the name of my maternal grandmother's oldest sister. She goes by Carrie.

I've seen Caroline more recently, but it's not overused. I know two around my age, and a total of five. I've also known three people named Carolina (two are Hispanic, one is Romanian), which I like too.

I like Caroline, nn Callie, but prefer Karolina to both.

Caroline is the mn of my youngest dd. I adore the name. Despite living in the South (Virginia), I've never known anyone bearing the name. I've known only a few people named Carolyn and Carrie, but never a Caroline.

I adore Caroline! I think it's elegant and works well on all ages.

I'm from a suburb in the MD/VA/Washington DC area where a lot of country club-sounding names have been popular for years (think Caroline, Hollis, Isabelle pre-2000, Theodore, Harrison, male Ashleys), so I know tons of Carolines ranging from newborns to 70's. Despite it's local popularity, I haven't encountered many at all in my travels or when I went away to school.

I love it. It's a nice friendly name that ages well and doesn't date.
All the Carolines I know are just Caroline - I've never met a Carrie. I prefer the full version too.

I love it. I think it's classy, timeless, and friendly. Nickname Carrie is nice, but I also just like Caroline. I don't think it's too common at all, but it is really common in the South.

I don't think Caroline is very common where I live. I've known several Carolyns, but I've never known a Caroline.

I really like the name Caroline. It's not all that common where I am from, I know a few but they are spread out in age. Don't think it needs a nickname, it's lovely on its own.

I really like Caroline. I pronounce the ending like the word "line." It ranked #87 here in the U.S. in 2011, which is a bit too popular for me as I prefer to stay out of the top 200 or at least the top 100. The thing is that it doesn't seem to be all that popular in my area. I don't encounter little girls named Caroline around here often at all. I was curious, so I just looked up the top 100 names in my state, and Caroline wasn't on the list.

I don't really think it's do common; I know one, plus some Carolyn's, but to me, that doesn't count. I pronounce it with the -line ending and Carolyn just like it's spelled with the -lyn ending.

... cause I checked my Facebook real quick, and I have eight friends with the name. I know there are more, too, because a number of them go by Carrie/Carly/Cari or some other nickname. It's certainly common where I'm from.

It's a classic, though, so I can think of many more offensive options.

I like Caroline. I've only met a few, spread out in age from toddler to 60+ years, so it doesn't feel common to me at all.
