What are your thoughts on the name Raymond?

I prefer just Ray, but I don't mind Raymond. The only thing is that I almost always think of the word "almond" when I hear it. Oddly enough, that doesn't happen with Edmund / Edmond or most other -ond/-und names.

I find it really dated and kind of unattractive sounding. I can't imagine a little kid called Raymond...

I really like it, though I realize that many people dismiss it as a name suitable for wizened perverts. Whatever! Raimund is even better.

It's wonderfully nerdy and Edwardian-chic. It's got that old man gloss to it. Like Randall and Howard and Edgar.

I've never really liked it that much. It was my grandfather's name, so I don't hate it. It also doesn't age very well. I couldn't see a baby named Raymond, only an older man.
