Otto and Carlo
What do you think of Otto? Ready for a comeback? It's my grandpa's name and also the name of our 13 year old tortoise. So I'd only use it as a middle name. Opinions? Also I remember having a kid named Carlo in my kindergarten class. I just thought of it again and think it's kind of cool. Opinions?

Nice. I like both of them a lot. I used to know a Pablo, if you need a third brother :)

Marco and CarloThough of course, not your Grandfather's name.

I think Otto is really fun. I love those obscure names that are easily accessible (ie easy to read and to spell). Plus I enjoy the o ending very much. Carlo is neat too. It doesn't quite grab me the same way, but I don't mind it. Some others:
Benno
Tadeo
Niko
Tiago

I love Otto and would consider it for a future son.
I dislike most all "Carl" names and Carlo is no different

I was just thinking about Otto last night! I was playing around with clunky feminizations, like Ottoline, and I got to thinking how neat Otto is visually. I like the openness of the Os on each end with the spiky Ts in the middle. I like the sound of it, too. Otto isn't one of those names that I think could ever make a major comeback and be popular on a huge scale, but it's familiar and accessible, and I think it could be used without raising any eyebrows. Carlo, on the other hand, I'm not crazy about. I've known so many Carloses, Carlo looks and sounds incomplete to me, like someone accidently dropped an S.

I absolutely adore Otto! I like Carlo, too, but definitely not as much.

I don't think Otto is going to have any kind of comeback anytime soon. Old-fashioned Germanic names don't seem to revive much.Carlo is very handsome, and Carlos is even more so.

It entered the top 1000 for the first time in decades which is why I asked :P

Otto and CarloOtto would make a great middle name.
But, I don't really like the name Carlo.
It sounds like someone was trying to name their child Carlos, but forgot how to spell. If you're going to have a son, then I'd say simpler names would be the best option.
