In 1963, Charles Schultz, who was the author of "Peanuts", did a series of comics about a little boy named 5 joining the group. 5's sisters were named 3 and 4, and 5's father had had their last name legally changed to their ZIP code. He had done this as a way of protesting how people's identities were being taken over by numbers.
Is that why it's creeptastic to you? Because our identities have been so taken over by numbers, anyway?
