Sky or Skye (more)
for a girl. Could you put your answer in the subject line, please.
You can tell me why you chose Sky or Skye in your message.
Sometimes I think Skye looks more feminine and more like a name. On the other hand it looks like a misspelled word to me sometimes.
Sky or Skye?
Do you know anyone named Sky or Skye?

Sky is a nature name. It might as well be spelled like the actually sky since that's the case. :) The e just seems unnecessary, at least for this name.
And I don't personally know any Skys, though I've heard the name yelled out at supermarkets etc...

I know a few Skylers that go by Sky and one girl named Skye and I had a character whose name was Skye
Skye is fine as a place name, but I think if it doesn't have meaning to you then Sky is the more honest approach. I feel like if you want to name your kid after the sky, why try to dress it up? It's such a simple and pretty word. No need for the E at all. Sky I like pretty well; Skye makes it a leetle kitschy.
eta I named my character Skye because she's an idiot.
Not saying all Skyes are idiots or everyone who likes the name is an idiot or anything. I just think the "e" adds a distinct touch of idiocy that makes it beautiful under certain circumstances.
Also Skye was her middle name. Her first name was Brianna.
Which is weird because that's also the case with the Skye I know in real life, whom I met well after I abandoned the story my Skye was in. Same first name and all.
Also they looked alike. Also the Skye in real life was also kind of an idiot.
In the same way.
I'll stop now.

I dislike both, but I'll take a place name over a random word name.
I don't know any Sky(e)s.

I think it just depends on what it's paired with.
Skye
It is my daughter's name. I love it. I prefer it spelt with an e on the end not really sure why. I have known maybe 4 Skye's in my life.
