Sky or Skye (more)
for a girl. Could you put your answer in the subject line, please.
You can tell me why you chose Sky or Skye in your message.Sometimes I think Skye looks more feminine and more like a name. On the other hand it looks like a misspelled word to me sometimes.Sky or Skye?
Do you know anyone named Sky or Skye?

SkySky is a nature name. It might as well be spelled like the actually sky since that's the case. :) The e just seems unnecessary, at least for this name. And I don't personally know any Skys, though I've heard the name yelled out at supermarkets etc...

SkyI know a few Skylers that go by Sky and one girl named Skye and I had a character whose name was SkyeSkye is fine as a place name, but I think if it doesn't have meaning to you then Sky is the more honest approach. I feel like if you want to name your kid after the sky, why try to dress it up? It's such a simple and pretty word. No need for the E at all. Sky I like pretty well; Skye makes it a leetle kitschy.eta I named my character Skye because she's an idiot.
Not saying all Skyes are idiots or everyone who likes the name is an idiot or anything. I just think the "e" adds a distinct touch of idiocy that makes it beautiful under certain circumstances.
Also Skye was her middle name. Her first name was Brianna.
Which is weird because that's also the case with the Skye I know in real life, whom I met well after I abandoned the story my Skye was in. Same first name and all.
Also they looked alike. Also the Skye in real life was also kind of an idiot.
In the same way.
I'll stop now.

Skye.I do not know anyone named Sky or Skye. The reason I prefer Skye is that it looks more like a name, it's feminine and I think it looks better when written. Sky reminds me of well, the sky and of Skyy Vodka.

SkyeSky is too much word, not enough name for me. It always makes me think of airlines.

SkyeI dislike both, but I'll take a place name over a random word name.I don't know any Sky(e)s.

I think it just depends on what it's paired with.

SkyI prefer Sky because then it's more in reference to whats up above, which I prefer. Skye, imo, is more because of the Isle of Skye, though I know people use it to reference the sky.

SkyI'd never heard of the island of Skye until this thread, but if I were using Sky it would be a nature name. I'm not sure I've met anyone with the spelling Sky though.

SkyeThe look of it appeals and I love the Scottish Isle meaning as opposed to just the sky. I have Scottish family and it's a beautiful place, especially the islands. I'm also a fan of Iona for this reason.I don't know any Sky/Skyes, only a Skyler nn Sky (girl)

SkyeProbably. Because of the Scottish island,as Bear mentioned. Although Sky, meaning the blue canopy above us, is good too.I don't know any Skyes or Skys IRL, just Happy Single Mum's daughter. :-)

SkyeIt is my daughter's name. I love it. I prefer it spelt with an e on the end not really sure why. I have known maybe 4 Skye's in my life.

SkyeMy parents spent their honey moon on the Scottish Isle of Skye. So it's a sentimental favorite of mine. I don't mind Sky as a name. But Skye, as a place name, has more meaning for me. I don't know anyone named Skye or Sky.
