Lavinia
I love the name Lavinia and I adore it as a middle name for Olga. What do you think of Lavinia? Do you think it would work better as a first name or middle name? Do you pronounce it 'lah-VIHN-ee-ah' or 'lah-VIHN-yah'?

I pronounce it 'lah-VIHN-ee-ah' and I think it works well with Olga. Neither Lavinia nor Olga are my style though.

I say Lah-vin-ee-ah. I like it better as a first name. I like the combo Lavinia or Livinia Rose. :)Mum to Hayley Anne

I've always like Lavinia, as it's the first name of a couple of my favorite gymnasts. I prefer it as a first name, and I pronounce it la-VIN-ee-uh. I think it has a lot of NN possibilities, too.

I say lah-VIN-ee-ah, and it's one of the few names I enunciate like that. I don't like the name at all; one of my all-time favourite books is Frances Hodgson Burnett's A Little Princess, and that Lavinia has put me off the name for good. However, I think it'd work, either as a first name or a middle name.Array

I like the name Lavinia. It's old-fashioned, but it's nice. Lavinia was a character in "A Little Princess". And, I pronounce it "la-VIN-ee-ah".P.S. I love your siggy!

Yeah, Lavinia in 'A Little Princess' is the only drawback. (I love that movie.) What a little brat she was! Hopefully the connotation won't impede using the name.I'm glad you like my sig. :) It was the result of a random moment of goofiness. I saw the picture and the comment just kind of popped in my mind.

I think you already know I love the name Lavinia. I think it makes a perfect mn for Olga. I'd be hard pressed to find another mn for Olga. Love the picture, BTW. :-)

I feel lucky to have found the 'perfect' middle name for Olga because no other name seems light enough and wispy enough for a name that has a somewhat hard sound to it. Lavinia does soften it quite a bit.I love Lavinia so much, that I've been thinking about it as a first name as of late. However, I don't know if I like it better as a first name or a middle name.I'm glad you like my picture. :D It gives me a little laugh every time I see it.
