Ottilie?
What are your thoughts on the name Ottilie?I LOVE it personally, I think it's very refreshing but still "fits" with today's Olivia's and Natalie's.

I like her. She's elegantly sweet and flowing. I tend to lean more toward Ottoline, though, because she seems a bit easier for non-nerds to pronounce. Someone recently posted Otthild which I may like even better.

I don't mind the French pronunciation, however, the English OTT is not a sound that I find very attractive. Still, it looks nice written down and that's always important to me.

I adore it! It's at once whimsical and grounded.

I really WANT to like it, and it a world outside of my own I DO like it.... but IRL it sounds too much like "oddly"

I adore Ottilie's retro vibe. She's energetic and sweet. Variant Ottoline has a vampy, exotic, silent-film-star feeling that I love as well. You're right. Ottilie is sort of a blend of Olivia and Natalie. :-D Have you thought about combinations for Ottilie yet? I'd love to hear it/them if you have.

I'm loving Ottilie Alice. For some reason it just seems so soft and whimsical to me. Although I'm not a huge fan of Alice's growing popularity I still adore the name.Ottilie Rosamund
Ottilie Mirabelle
Ottilie EldaThose are some more of my favorites :)

Ottilie Alice -- Darling. This is my favorite of your combinations. It flows beautifully and the two sit nicely next to each other. They seem to like each others' company. The combination has an easy elegance.Ottilie Rosamund -- as much as I adore both names they are a tad bumpy next to each other when said out loud. Ottilie Mirabelle -- Ooooh. Now you're tapping into the vampy, 20's vibe of Ottoline. I can see Theda Bara hanging out with Ottilie Mirabelle on the set. They're ready for their close up, Mr. de Mille. I prefer to spell it Mirabel because that's how the Latin word for miracle is spelled (I believe) and it looks more exotic with the "bel" ending. But it's a minor quibble. Ottilie Mirabelle is great too.Ottilie Elda -- Someone actually knows Elda exists? This fact alone makes me love the ocmbination.

I went to school with a girl named Elda. She was, appropriately, the eldest child in a large family. (I see her now..thin, tallish, light hair, sharp face, bossy, but not unpleasant, always the older sister.)
