Mr Darcy
makes it all male for me

That's unfortunate :(
I see Darcy has a very strong and handsome boys name. There is nothing feminine about it at all in my opinion!

I love it for a boy because of Mr. Darcy. Not overfond of it on girls - it seems very obviously masculine.

I like it. It's cute for a girl. I don't know any.
I think Darcy is much better as a girl's name.
I love the name Darcy, but only on a boy. I immediately think of D'Arcy McGee (Canadian Father of Confederation), Darcy Tucker (famous NHL player), Darcy Hordichuk (not-as-famous NHL player), and of course, Mr. Darcy. Granted, there was also Georgiana Darcy, but the name Darcy doesn't immediately bring her to mind.
Darcy sounds dark and handsome on a boy and ditzy and trashy on a girl. Still, it's better than Nevaeh or Rylee.

The only Darcy I know has just retired from his professorship of Labour Law. It was a tradition in his family for the girls to get M- names and the boys to get D- names, and he was I think the youngest brother.
I don't like it much for boys, but I find it comically inappropriate for girls. But no doubt it's better than Fitzwilliam.

I don't like or dislike it, for either gender. I get two associations from it. One is bubbly, cheerleadery, poofy-haired girls in the 80s, the other is Mr. Darcy. Ha.
In the US it was most common in the 70s I think. I've only ever known two, both female: my aunt, born in the mid 70s, and a girl my age, although she spelled it Darci.

I like it. On a girl, I prefer it w/ an i. I do prefer it on a girl to a guy, but it's tolerable on a guy... feels more girly than masculine to me though.
