Oh. I love Gelsey, but said with a hard G. I'm not sure if I made that pronunciation up. Maybe I did.
I don't know who the famous Gelsey is so I don't think it's a weird ballet choice. I think she might be constantly mistaken for Chelsea though. Or Kelsey in my hard-G case.

I'm kind of glad you don't know what famous person I'm referring to. :) That makes it feel more usable.
Gelsey Kirkland is the only RL Gelsey I know of. She is a famous and incredibly talented ballerina who partnered with Mikhail Baryshnikov and is now a teacher and choreographer (unfortunately, she was also famous for eating disorders and drug addiction, though I guess she's turned around). I thought her name was pronounced with a soft G, but a quick but a quick Google search tells me it might be a hard G. Hmm.
