I like Mae. I like how simple it is and the way the "ae" looks. So refreshing and spunky. I used to prefer May too but then I met someone whose last name was May and I'm over its charms now. Also I like that Mae makes me think of the 20's and therefore has more fire and glitz. May is a little more nicey-nice and genteel.You're right, it is hard to combo.
