Alexandra - yeah, 80s dated. I know many who were born in the 80s but no younger or older ones. I mean it is definitely still being used, though. But I can't even really see this as a classic, it wasn't even in the top 1000 for the first half of the century or so.
Alice - no
Daniela - yeah, to the 70s and 80s, but probably not in the US. I know lots of girls named this from Switzerland and Germany and some Spanish/Italian speaking countries.
Diana - no
Julia - not really but I know way too many who were born in the 80s and early 90s.
Rose - no
Lucia - no
Madeleine - not yet but it will be late 90s/early 2000s dated
Margaret - no, unless you call her Peggy
Violetta - nope
Gabriela - 60s or 50s dated to me because I know many people from Germany and it used to be common then. In the US, no.
Mariana - no
Melanie - yeah a little
Stella - no
Melody - no
Michelle - yeah total 50s,60s name
Fiona - no
Anastasia - no

Michelle and Melody seem dated but not old-fashioned. They've got a real 70's-80's vibe for me. The rest are old-fashioned enough to be cool again.

I think Michelle is a little dated, but love the rest.

Depends on where you live, I guess. Melanie, Michelle and Melody seem dated to me, and if Daniela and Gabriela were spelt Daniella and Gabriella, they would seem dated too.

Actually, the only ones I truly find outdated are Melody and Michelle -- very 70s. The others are hipster or retro or something something (can't put my finger on it but I know Lucia, Violetta and Anastasia fall into that category). Whatever they are, they're very feminine and elegant and classic and flowing.

I think of Alice, Diana, Margaret, Melanie, Melody and Michelle as all being outdated.

Maaaaaaybe Diana, Stella, or MichelleBut I really don't think any of them are dated at all. Some of them, I would say, are more modern than anything else!

I don't consider any of them old-fashioned, but I do think a few are a little dated. Diana: 50s/60s
Melanie, Melody, & Michelle: 70s/80s
Daniela & Gabriela: 90sNone are so dated they couldn't be used today.

Alice and Margaret seem old-fashioned to me, but I don't find them too dated to use. They're classics with an old time feel.Diana, Melanie, Melody, and Michelle seem a bit dated, but not overly so. I don't see it as necessarily a bad thing. The others don't seem dated.

Alexandra?Interesting... I feel like that one is on the same level as, say, Katherine or Elizabeth- I'm starting to think people will never stop using it. And since you could find a good number of people in every age group with the name, I think that makes it timeless/a classic.

I don't, I guess it's because it was so overused in the 80s. Also unlike Elizabeth and Katherine this wasn't even in the top 1000 from 1880 to 1960 or so (too tired to look it up) :P

Hm. Some of them are old-fashioined but not dated. The ones I'd consider dated are Melanie, Stella, and Michelle. Alice, Rose, Margaret, and Violetta are old-fashioned but definitely not outdated.

The only one I find dated is Michelle, and MAYBE Daniela (Danielle definitely, Daniela has a bit more class I think)
