Dated?
Replies
Alexandra - yeah, 80s dated. I know many who were born in the 80s but no younger or older ones. I mean it is definitely still being used, though. But I can't even really see this as a classic, it wasn't even in the top 1000 for the first half of the century or so.
Alice - no
Daniela - yeah, to the 70s and 80s, but probably not in the US. I know lots of girls named this from Switzerland and Germany and some Spanish/Italian speaking countries.
Diana - no
Julia - not really but I know way too many who were born in the 80s and early 90s.
Rose - no
Lucia - no
Madeleine - not yet but it will be late 90s/early 2000s dated
Margaret - no, unless you call her Peggy
Violetta - nope
Gabriela - 60s or 50s dated to me because I know many people from Germany and it used to be common then. In the US, no.
Mariana - no
Melanie - yeah a little
Stella - no
Melody - no
Michelle - yeah total 50s,60s name
Fiona - no
Anastasia - no
Alice - no

I think Michelle is a little dated, but love the rest.
Actually, the only ones I truly find outdated are Melody and Michelle -- very 70s. The others are hipster or retro or something something (can't put my finger on it but I know Lucia, Violetta and Anastasia fall into that category). Whatever they are, they're very feminine and elegant and classic and flowing.
Maaaaaaybe Diana, Stella, or Michelle
But I really don't think any of them are dated at all. Some of them, I would say, are more modern than anything else!

I don't consider any of them old-fashioned, but I do think a few are a little dated.
Diana: 50s/60s
Melanie, Melody, & Michelle: 70s/80s
Daniela & Gabriela: 90s
None are so dated they couldn't be used today.

None.
