Rain
I used to like Rain a long time ago and just recently thought of it again. I think I like it on a girl. What do you think?
The concern I have, I can't count how many times I said "Freaking rain" when stepping outside and getting all wet from it. I mean clearly rain is important and something nice, it's just not nice when it's ice cold and you don't have an umbrella. Do you think that should keep me from using it?
How many do you know? I know a guy named Rain and a guy named Rayne as well as a girl named Rain and one named Raine. I also know a girl named Rainey. I like Rainie as a nickname.
opinions?

My DD's middle name is Rain
so I love it. I'd have used it as a first if I could have gotten it by DP.

I like Rain! I also like Raine, mostly after a character named Moiraine but now I just like it on its own merits too. I know one little girl named Rayne, and I've also met a girl named Rain. I've never met a guy Rain. I don't like it on a boy nearly as much as a girl anyway.. I like Rainy as a nickname (or Rainey, etc.)
I think rain has pretty imagery. Sure, rain can be annoying sometimes, but that's a risk with any word name. Like Summer-- summer is a season, usually seen as good but there are many annoying things about it (like being too hot, etc.) I don't think something like that should keep you from using a name.

I like it as a MN, on a girl. It's one of DHs favorite names but I'm not a big fan of word names as FNs, it seems a little tricky for the bearer.
