I always preffered Rio on a boy, but now it's growing on me for a girl. I knew a girl named Rio, but she spelled it Ryo.

Their song Rio is the only association I have with the name. So it makes me picture... well, Duran Duran. :-/

Ha ha-well...I remember wanting to name a daughter Rio when I was in love with Duran Duran as a kid! Okay, that's embarrassing! :) Now that I'm an adult, I don't think the name is nearly as charming. :)

The -o ending means it sounds very masculine for me, and I really like the idea of Rio on a man.

On a girl, it's not horrible, but I'd rather see her named something like Ria / Rhea.

I really don't like it, especially on a girl. I prefer River on a boy. *blush*

It's interesting and kind of cute, reminds me of Pio or Pia, but I sort of think of it as masculine like River sounds. :)
