Re: Amelia
I have this irrational dislike of Amelia. I say irrational because I love Emilia, which I pronounce almost exactly the same way. Perhaps it's "pick a team" syndrome and I've landed squarely with Emilia.Emilia for me is associated with Shakespeare and ancient Rome. Amelia reminds me more of a spoiled brat. I shouldn't do this to myself because there's nothing wrong with Amelia at all. I wish I could shake it.I do love the nns Milly and Amy. :-) I can also see Mia and Mimi coming from an Amelia. As for the combination "Amelia Poppy Ruth" I'm not the best person to ask. Poppy makes me think of heroin and Ruth sounds like a dog barking -- although I'm beginning to have a change of heart on Ruth. The flow of Amelia Poppy Ruth is really good, except that "Poppy Ruth" is making my hungry for a Baby Ruth candy bar. Wow. That was so cranky and unhelpful. It must be the turkey doing that. Sorry. :-(I will say that if I ever met an Amelia Poppy Ruth in real life I would smile and silently acknowledge the fellow namenerd who had a hand in its creation. It's miles above the usual Nevaeh Rose on BA lists. :-) Amelia is a feminine classic that any daughter could be proud to wear.
