Re: Names that are popular with celebs but not in general
in reply to a message by Lily
Ava, though this one has caught on with non-celebs. I believe Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe's daughter is Ava, as well as Hugh Jackman, and...that broad he married. I don't know her name.Esme is popular with celebrities, but not nearly as popular with the general population. Michael J. Fox, Samantha Morton, and Anthony Edwards all have daughters named Esme.Anne Heche and Bill Murray both have sons named Homer. So does Richard Gere. I wish Homer was more popular, because I really like it.Denise Richards/Charlie Sheen, Madonna, and Chris Rock all have daughters named Lola (though Lola is a NN for Lourdes in Madonna's case.) I think this one hasn't caught on with the unwashed masses because it has ties with "Lolita", but I've heard it on a lot of pets, mostly dogs.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have a Lola too. I'd rather use Louri (like Lori) or Desi as nns for Lourdes. Lola is too closly associated to Nabakov's Lolita to me.

Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora have an Ava as well. As do Patty Smyth and John McEnroe. Also, I hate Lola, always have.

Lola sounds like an old, chain-smoking broad with her titties drooping down to her knees. I never thought it was cute at all.

So do I. It reminds me of apple pie.

I love Homer too. It totally is apple-pie homey and adorable.

The problem with Homer is that a lot of people are going to think "The Simpsons."

I like Homer Simpson. I don't know but I think it's totally usable anyway.
