Re: Alexander
Well, well. Alexander looks and sounds, to me anyway, much closer to Alabaster than Alistair. And Alabaster is a surname, which might or might not be a good thing. My nephew, Alexander Duncan Scottishln, was known as Zander when he was tiny: his big brother was famous for calling him BabybrotherZander, all in one breath. Then it expanded to Alexander, which it still is when he's naughty, and shrank again to Alex. Which is fine by me and it does suit him better than Zander, but my personal choice would be Alec, which he's never used at all.
