Hedy

I really like Hedy. I think it's rare, sharp, sophisticated, and very saucy indeed. I immediately think of Hedy Lamarr, which is a perfectly good association. What a gorgeous woman. :D
Since the name is a nickname for Hedwig, I'd pronounce it like "heady." HED-ee.
What middle names are you thinking of?

I would say it Head-ee, because of Ms Lamarr, and because I know it's short for Hedwig. But I want it to be Hee-dee!
I love Hedy. I haven't read Llewella's comment, but I can see she's already on to the Hedy Lamarr association. That's where I first heard the name ("HED-ee," as in the word "head" plus an "ee" sound on the end). Her fn was Hedwig. I loved Ms Lamarr's allure and so her name takes on that patina for me as well.
The only reaosn that I don't suggest it more is the juvenile "head"/ oral sex jokes. It kills me to admit this, but Hedy may be unusable, at least here in the U.S. Junior High School is hard enough without a name with "kick me" written all over it. *sigh* I hope I'm being overly pessimistic. Let's hope HP's Hedwig the Owl has opened a few eyes to the possibilities of Hedy as a name.
