Well, for a start, we are British.
We really don't want a long Georgette Heyerish mouthful of a name. I can appreciate them aesthetically, but our surnames are already long and life contains a lot of forms to fill in. We want something pretty and balanced and sound but not so elaborate that it's wearying.
