British TV Anchor's New Baby Girl
Clemency Florence Rose, born Saturday to Kate Silverton and Mike HeronI don't get the attraction of Florence, which is also the name of Prime Minister David Cameron's daughter (also a Florence Rose), but I like the combo - Clemency is sweet and quirky at the same time

I quite like it. Sweet and quirky is a good way to sum it up and Florence has been growing on me recently. Anyway, I'm pleased for Kate as apparently it was a bit of a miracle that the baby was conceived naturally after several failed IVF attempts and I like hearing stories like that!

I adore the name Clemence and Clementine. But Clemency just makes me think of prisons and clemency boards.

In all, I like their choice. I agree that Clemency is simultaneously sweet and quirky. I like both Florence and Rose, but the Florence Rose part is overly floral and almost redundant. It's not all that bad, though. I wonder if perhaps if at least one was used to honor someone and that's why they used both, but my guess is that it's probably because those names are currently en vogue and they happened to like both.

Clemency? lol ... it means when you're convicted of a crime and they don't punish you. I wouldn't want to be named that because it subliminally says "doormat"Clemence Rose would have been cute. But then they couldn't have used Florence! Oh noes! ... IMO the name Clemency Florence is too rhymey as it is.

It seems very flowery and fancy, but not really "frilly". I don't like the "cy" in Clemency so close to the "ce" in Florence; two names with a soft c in them right next to each other is bothering me for some reason. I guess the names go well together, although they're not really my style. I'd prefer Clemency Flora Rose.
