Carla Bruni (Wife of French president Sarzoky) gave birth today to a little girl who is supposedly named Dahlia. What do you think of the name?

The Bruni-Sarkozys have apparently gone with Giulia.Fabulous name, I think! I love it spelled this way.

I like Dahlia better. Giulia is so overused.

I barely hear Giulia where I live. It sounds fresh to me!

GreatI like Giulia better than Dahlia (which I think should be spelled Dalia in French or Italian). Giulia is very popular in Italy and it is climbing in France, wonder if this will help it or not?

I think we'll see a spike in the charts. It always helps when a great name such as Giulia is used by a public figure. I'm not sure it would make the top ten, but I think more people would be apt to use it.

Love it, hope so.

Where I live, the flower is a dahlia, pronounced DAY-lee-a, and a human name is the Israeli Dalia, which is DAAH-lee-a I think! My best French guess would be dah-lee-ah, which is fine though not a personal favourite. It'd be interesting to know if it's popular in either French or Italian ...

Dahlia is fine with me although it has some kind of melancholic/dark sound to it for me.

I wasnt expecting a name like Dahlia either but it is a nice name, so far they havent actually released her name so we will see if it's true or not.

I like it! I don't know what I would have expected her to name a child, but for some reason it wasn't that. Dahlia's lovely.

I'm loving It! It's a nice change from the ever so boring and overused, Rose.
