I think Doc is a better nickname for an adult who has earned an MD or a PhD, mostly because my retired-physician grandfather is called Doc and a former teacher of mine who had earned his doctorate is called Doc exclusively. I think it seems silly on a baby. I imagine a toddler writing a dissertation and giggle.

Cute. I don't really like the nn Doc, I see that as more of a nickname for a dog or a fish or some sort of pet. But I think Emmett Theodore is cool and I like it as a brother to Indiana. I can totally see an Emmett Theodore hanging around with an Indiana Jones-type person... :P

I like Emmett and even Indiana, but together and with Emmett using the nickname Doc it's too many 80s movie characters in one sibset for me.
