I personally hate all nn for Edward and similar names. I am in love with the name Edmund and would love to give it to a son; however, I loathe the idea he may prefer Ed or Ned or and other. I keep it as a mn only.

Wood though is weird...but I will say it is better than Ned and much better than Ed or Eddie.
