Marissa
This has been growing on me, what do you think? I like how it reminds me of the sea. Do you pronounce the -rissa part as RISS-a or REE-sa? And the Mar part more like MAH or MEH? So mah-RISS-a or meh-RISS-ah...etc?Is it too common? Marissa

My name is Marisa and I pronounce it mah-RISS-uh. I sometimes pronounce my name mer-iss-UH. Sometimes my mother calls me mah-REE-suh, but usually she calls me mah-RISS-uh.I love the name Marisa / Marissa. I also really like Larissa / Larisa and Carissa / Carisa. I also like Miranda and how it makes me think of the Tempest. The Tempest makes me think of the ocean. Also I don't think that the name Marissa is too common. I've never been in a class with another Marisa / Marissa in my life. I've only met a few people with the name Marisa / Marissa. I think around 5 or 6 people and none of them went to my school. And I think my name was more popular the year I was born than it is currently. Sometimes people think that I say that my name is Melissa. It's not annoying unless you count the few times where the person couldn't remember my name and kept calling me Melissa. Most people react very warmly to hearing my name. I've never had anyone treat me negatively because of my name. No one ever made fun of my name since it actually is kind of hard to think of nicknames for Marisa. I've had a lot of people complement my name. I think it is a sunny sounding name that makes people think of the green-blue waters of the ocean and the sea. So yeah it is a great name to have. :D

I've known a few. I personally don't like it but it's not a bad name at all. I say muh-riss-uh

I pronounce it muh-RISS-uh. I know a woman with a Marisa who pronounces it muh-REE-sa. I think it's maybe a little 80s, but it's not terribly dated. It's not bad, but there are so many other, somewhat similar, names I like a lot more.

I pronounce it mahr-ISS-ah. I don't like it. It sounds prissy to me. It's the -issa ending.

MAH-riss-uh/I don't like it, but there's nothing wrong with it really.
