Re: Josephine

I like Josephine. It's my boyfriend's grandma's name, and will probably be used as a middle name if we ever have a daughter - my combos are Eve Josephine or Isla Josephine
1. Do you think it works with my other kids? It doesn't really "go" especially well, but it doesn't sound crazy at all. I just think Louisa fits better.
2. I'm in love with the combo Josephine Primrose Anne (Anne is my middle name and my mom's...Primrose would honour my grandmother and all her sisters who shared the middle name Rose)...we'd use the nickname Posy, which I also adore. I think Josephine Primrose Anne is gorgeous! I do think Anne is a little lost in there, since it's so short next to the other names but that's not really a big problem. Posy is an adorable nickname - I wouldn't use it myself as it's a little cutesey but it's nice.
3. Do you think it matters if the nn rhymes with your last name? My last name sounds like Jovi. I think Posy Jovi sounds OK... not perfect but fine. I actually think that Josephine Jovi sounds more strange, because they both start with Jo.
4. Have you noticed many baby Josephines? Does the name still feel fresh to you? I've never met a baby Josephine
5. Do you think I could pull of always having her be Josphine or Posy? I wouldn't want Jo...maybe Josie but not Jo...my brother-in-law is Joe so it's a no. I think Posy is too cute for an adult, or maybe even a Teenager. I also think Josephine is too long to be used all the time. I might go for Posy as a child, Josie as a teenager and maybe Josephine as an adult - but I suppose it's up to her when she's older.
6. What impression do you have of the name? To me it's spunky and elegant all rolled into one...you? I dont really have a significant impression - I think it's sophisticated and classy though, not at all trendy or insubstantial

Thanks for the response! Just to clarify, my last name doesn't start with a 'j'- just rhymes with Jovi:) Love both Eve and Isla by the way!
