I think of
Edna Krabappel on
The Simpsons. And also my Grandaunt-By-Marriage
Edna, who, among other things, refused to let Mom and Uncle
Roy sleep in her house when they went over to Penticton to visit their
dying sister, my Aunt
Flo.
If get rid of those associations, I think
Edna has its own charm. But it's still sounds dowdy and "old" to me, even though I usually like names in this group.
Edna's certainly better than
Eddie as a full name for a girl imo.
I prefer
Edith,
Edda,
Eden,
Eden,
Edana, Edwarda, or Edmé. Or
Ethel, if you break out of the
Ed names.
