Re: Masculine Nicknames on Girls
in reply to a message by Esyllt
I don't really care for Rob/Bob/Bobby, Thom/Tom, Fred, or Bert as nicknames for girls, but there are some masculine nicknames that I like, and I could see Al growing on me as a girls' nickname. I love Leona or Leonia "Leo" for a girl.
Others I like:
Samantha "Sam"
Alexandra "Alex" - The funny thing is that I like dislike Alex for a boy.
Davina "Davey/Davie"
I don't mind Jo as a nickname for something like Josephine, Joelle, or Joanna. And although I'm not really a Willie and Billie fan, I don't mind them as nicknames for Wilhelmina, Willa, and Willow.
More I don't mind:
Antonia or Antoinette "Toni"
Nicole, Nicola, or Nicolette "Nick"
Christine, Christa, Christina, etc. "Chris"
Timothea or Timea "Tim"
Andrea "Andy/Andi"
Danielle "Dani/Danny/Dannie"
Charlotte "Charlie"
Virginia "Vinnie/Vinny"
Francesca "Frankie"
Henrietta or Hallie "Hal"
Claudia "Claude"
Philomena "Phil"
