I'd pronounce it al YOH nah.

It is pronounced more like ah-LYO-nah. My grandfather's family is Lithuanian, but many of them have Russian names.

That's my inital thought too. But, if the character isn't Russian, I might say it differently. Like Marie- usually I'd use the French mah REE, but the Czechs say MAH ree yuh. Where is the character from?

There was a girl in my class with this name last year (spelled Allyona) -- she pronounced it AL ee AH nah and went by Lona (Lana). It's okay -- I like the way it looks more than it sounds. (I would prefer the AL ee OH nah pronunciation, but I don't know if this is ever used).
