I suspect from its etimology that Hayley would be the original... esp. since others are listed as variants of it... I kind of prefer Hailey because of the 2 ys so close together thing... Was fiddling around w/ it for kanji purposes and came up w/ Heili 平里 or Heiri in actual Jpns. transliteration since they don't differentiate between r and l in Jpns... Winds up being peace and village in kanji which I find to be a deeper meaning than the original... I like it ok on someone else's kid... w/ Azusa as a mn. I do think for everyone's sake though, it would be better spelled Hailey or Hayley in En.
I do prefer Hayley to Kaylee simply because Hayley feels more like a real solid name and Kaylee feels more like a trendy preppy name.
