Daniel?

I cannot begin to count all the Daniel's I know, so according to your popularity guidelines, I could never use it. According to my own, I'd never think about it anyway.
However, I do love it and if the popularity isn't a big deal to you, I say go for it. I'd use a less-popular middle name to give it a unique flavor, some spunk

I like Daniel very much. It's such a handsome, strong choice that still manages to be sweet. I agree that it does have a similar feel to Samuel. Between Daniel and Samuel, I'd pick Daniel. Unfortunately, between Dan/Danny and Sam/Sammy, I'm Samuel all the way. Daniel is one name, like David, that I only like in full.
I like it as well. It's popular, but it's a good, solid, handsome name that works well for a multitude of personalities.
I really like this. :)
Daniel is nice. I know a few Daniels, too. I don't think it's bad using a name of someone you know as long as it's not in your family or close friends. My cousin is named Daniel Elliott B. Elliott is after his great-grandfather and DB is after DB Cooper. While I like the name Daniel, I hate Daniel nicknames. Danny, Dan, have always bothered me. I find them plain, boring, stale and old manish. Daniel is a great name so if you use it please call him Daniel. Samuel is nice too. I don't mind Samuel's nicknames as much, but I still prefer Samuels to be called Samuel.
I never really gave Daniel much thought I moved to Spain and started meeting Daniels left and right. Daniel had always seemed to English to me, but all the Daniels I met in Spain were Spanish, German & Austrian. I like names that can work in multiple languages/ places, so after meeting one particularly good-looking German Daniel who just made me uncontrollably giddy, I was like, "What a fantastic name!", even though I had had at least two Daniels in all my classes growing up (I was in French immersion, so we all were in all the same classes from kindergarten through high school graduation).
I actually think I know more Daniels than any other name... but I'm not tired of it. I think it's handsome, too.

It started to grow on me over the last few months. I think it's understated and handsome, and can fit any type of boy. I like Dan fine as a nickname, but I really dislike Danny.
