Swedish crown princess couple's baby?
Last time I made a thread like this, people said it was too early, but I'll try again as crown princess Victoria and prince Daniel are now officially expecting their first child in March 2012. :) What do you think they will name their child, and what would you name it?
Still being realistic, I'm hoping for:
Edmund Oscar Carl Leopold
or
Alice Christina Sibylla Josephine
These are all family names, but they could of course use something that isn't. Hedvig or Eleonora would be nice (though they are family names in some way too, but a long time ago). I would like Sibylla as the first name, but apart from being Victoria's grandmother, it's also a fast food chain, so maybe not ...
Family names:
Parents are Victoria Ingrid Alice Desirée and Olof Daniel.
Victoria's father's ancestry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancestry_of_Carl_XVI_Gustaf_of_Sweden
Victoria's mother's ancestry: http://www.wargs.com/royal/silvia.html
Daniel's parents: Olle Gunnar & Ewa Kristina
His grandparents: Anders & Frida Berta Elisabet, John Enar & Nanny Birgitta
His great-grandparents: Anders & Brita, Anders Erik & Anna, Johan Gregorius & Anna, Johan Teodor & Kristina

So excited for the new prince or princess! This news made my day.
It seems like most members of the royal families of Europe (and related to) are choosing names that are more acceptable in a modern setting (Leonor, Vincent, Isabella, Sverre, Savannah) rather than plucking more obscure ones from the attic of the family tree.
I hope they go for Sibylla for a girl and Gustaf for a boy.

They might go with Alice. After all, it's a nice and old Swedish name and it's honoring. But I don't know, maybe a bit too popular and "trendy"? Maybe Astrid, or Sophia. Or Fredrika. Nah, I'm still going with Alice.
And for a boy...I don't think they will go with Gustaf. Maybe Oscar, Victor, Edvard, Vilhelm/Wilhelm, Erik?
Perhaps Alice Astrid Kristina Louise and Erik Carl Olof Edvard ?

Yay! I've been waiting for this :P
I don't think they'll go with something outlandish since this is the heir to the throne. It'll be traditional.
Possible first names:
Erik, Oscar (I hope not - too trendy), Johan, Vilhelm / Wilhelm, Alexander.
Sophia, Lilian (I hope they'll use this), Eleonora, Astrid.
Possible middle names:
Sibylla, Lilian, Victoria, Ewa (but I hope they'll spell it Eva), Renate, Silvia, Kristina, Ingrid, Alice
Carl, Gustaf, Olof, Bertil, Johan, Walther, Artur
Combo guesses:
Eleonora Lilian Eva Sibylla
Lilian Eva Renate Victoria
Wilhelm Carl Olof Walther
Erik Gustaf Olof Walther
I think it's a girl.

I didn't think of Wilhelm, that would be a good choice. I really like Walther too, but with all these Nazi rumours around that man, true or not, I don't know if it's a good idea. :/ I don't think they would use Lilian as a first name, she's probably not "royal enough" to name the heir after. But I can definitely see it on a younger child! And probably not Sophia either, considering Carl Philip's girlfriend.
I completely forgot about Carl Philip's girlfriend. Whoops.
I'm having a hard time coming up with "royal" first names for a girl.
Aurora? Too Disney princessy?
Elisabeth?
Fredrika? Too confusing with crown prince Frederik of Denmark, perhaps.
Henrietta?
Katarina?
Sigrid!?
I've read that princess Lilian is very special to Victoria. Lilian never had children and Victoria did not have a paternal grandmother, so Lilian was like a stand-in grandmother to Victoria and her siblings. So, I'm still hoping they'll use Lilian as a middle name (I agree that it's not "royal enough" for a first name).

I really like Fredrika, Katarina and Sigrid, though the only one I could see them using is Sigrid. :)

Alice would be cute - Alice Victoria something. Or Birgitta! I don't really have thoughts about the boy's name, except that he definitely shouldn't be a Carl. There are enough Carls in the royal family right now. :)
I hope they would pick a name that is not a family name, but I don't think that's very likely.
