I adore Madeleine and my stock combo is Madeleine Eve. How would you be pronouncing it? I prefer the 'len' ending.

Madeleine. I want to like it, but it comes off bland to me. I really don't like the name Maddie, it sounds like the word "matted" to me. Which is not good, and the only girl I knew with the name wasn't very pretty at all, so I think of her and I think that's why I feel this way. But, in attempt to help...

In and of itself, Madeleine is a beautiful name. To me, the problem is the nn Maddy/Maddie, now shared by the zillions of Madisons out there. Maybe this speaks to our collective lack of imagination, (though not shared by most BtN posters).

I prefer Madeline. I don't care for Madeleine because it was the real name of that overblown McCann girl.

I pronounce them differently, but quite like both of them.
