Names in obituaries
Do you ever read the obituaries to find names? If so, what was the most interesting name you found in an obituary?
The most interesting name I found in any newspaper was one from New Mexico. I found an obituary for an older Hispanic woman nicknamed Polly. It turned out that her real name was Polixena (it's the Spanish form of Polyxena). I thought that was an amazing name!
The most interesting I found in my paper were a lot of the Greek names, since there's a large Greek community where I live. Some I found included Phaedra, Athanasia, and Aphrodite.
