I do like it if it's spelled Earnest because then it makes me think of The Importance of Being Earnest, which I love. And it seems more open and elegant then.And for what it's worth, when you stick een on the end (Ernestine), I enjoy the awkwardness mixed with the elegance.Actually on top of the Jim Varney Ernest association, I had a Great-Uncle Ernest who was always kind of scary!
