Thoughts on Peregrine?
So there was recently a post about a birth announcement with a long and rather stressfully tryndeigh name, the fist of which was Peregrine, nn Perrin. I was wondering about opinions on Peregrine alone, as well as nns ( Perrin, Pippin, etc) and combos. So give me whatever you've got, critiques, approval, suggestions, etc. Thanks. :)

I always want to say pedigree like dogs. I can't really find a thing I like about it.

It's too prissy.

I used to think it was over-the-top, but I've come to like it. Possibly because I know of one (well, Peregrin, as in Took), so it seems more usable (his nn is also Pippin). I loved the falcons when I was a kid, so that helps, too. It's such a dashing and wildly adventurous name. I can see him standing there on his ship with his hand on the hilt of his sword. Oh, and it also is very colonial/revolutionary war era to me because I read once about someone named Peregrine something who was on the Mayflower. My combos...
Abner Peregrine
Bedivere Peregrine
Bowen Peregrine - a favorite
Clancy Peregrine
Dacre Peregrine
March Peregrine
Nash Peregrine
Peregrine Joseph
Peregrine Zeal - love this too
Ruarc Peregrine
Rupert Peregrine - and this

I definitely like it. I'm planning on using it as a mn. I prefer Perrin on its own, but it's good as a nn for Peregrine too. Pippin is cute, but of course inevitably associated with Peregrin Took.

It has a very nice surname feel to it. I think Perry or Parry would be a good nn.

I actually really like Perry except that I knew a rather disgusting one once... :/ I will see if it grows on me again.

...as in Took?Well, he was one of my favorite characters, I must say. Such a scrappy little troublemaker. ;)
